Religious Education

People do not become saints because of how hard they have tried to be good, but because they have allowed God to take over their lives.  We are God’s work of art, and God is even now laboring in our souls to slowly but surely create something amazingly beautiful.  When we are generous with God, God molds us and fashions us into a holy people.

Children and young folks are central to our community.  All those who work within the various sacrament and religious education programs at St. Raphael take seriously the task of helping our young learners to be attentive to the quiet, internal voice of God as they grow in a real love relationship with God in Christ.  The challenge as we strive to walk in God’s presence is how to recognize the voice of God in the midst of all other voices.  This is important if we are sincere about our desire to follow God’s gentle inspiration in our lives and to be companions of Jesus in his mission of service and salvation. Echoing this faith, belief and life-giving practice is the task and joy of St. Raphael’s catechists – the task of all who labor in faith formation.
