Charter/Mission: We support the Catholic Charities Emergency Food and Nutrition Network of the Archdiocese of Newark. The Emergency Food and Nutrition Network (EFNN) coordinates bulk food collection and distribution through a network of 75 parish-based food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters in the Archdiocese of Newark. The program provides consultation and assistance to a network of food pantries.

Skills/Talents of Members: Interest and enthusiasm to help the people of the archdiocese who haven’t enough food to eat. Ability to pack and move boxes of food to the Catholic Charities Food Center in East Orange.

Activity Schedule: We have on-going collections of food for the EFNN, using baskets in the Religious Education hallway as receptacles for non-perishable items. In addition, special events (for example, during Lent – One-Can Meals, Advent – White Sock Collection) collect both focused items that are needed and funds for programs on healthy living.

What does our Ministry need today?  Continuing donations of non-perishable food. Volunteers to run special food drives and get the food to the Food Center. Potentially a new Point-of-Contact to lead the overall effort.
