“Let the children come to me and do not stop them, because the Kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” … Matt 19:14

Ministry Head/Point of Contact: Joan Gilliland, (973) 992-9496

Mission: The Liturgy of The Word with children provides a wonderful avenue for children to appreciate and comprehend the Word of God at their level of understanding, as they are designed to make the Word come alive for children from 4 and up. Children are gathered prayerfully after the Collect and sent forth to the Raphael Room to celebrate the Liturgy of the Word. Here they celebrate Jesus through prayers, songs, and an inter-active homily. They rejoin the main celebration for the Liturgy of the Eucharist, after the Prayer of the Faithful.

Skills/Talents: Ability to work with children to discuss the Word of God in a manner that helps them understand and enjoy the message He sends. The readings of the day are provided from the Children’s Lectionary.

Meeting times: Every Sunday at the 9:00 Mass. Due to vacations, CLOW does not normally meet during the summer months.

What does our Ministry need today?  Our ministry needs more volunteers to come forward to labor in the harvest. We can do much to plant the seeds of God’s love. If you love children and wish to impart God’s blessings to these little ones – come join us.
