SPECIAL DURING THE CORONA-VIRUS OUTBREAK!!

  • The Archbishop of Newark, announced today that he has dispensed the faithful of the Archdiocese from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass until further notice, after evaluating recommendations of state and health officials.
  • The Archdiocese of Newark will LiveStream Mass Sundays at Noon (EST). All faithful are invited to join virtually. The bilingual (English and Spanish) Mass will be celebrated by Cardinal Joseph W. Tobin, C.Ss.R., Archbishop of Newark, to provide the faithful with spiritual nourishment during this time of need.  To watch the livestream, visit the Archdiocese of Newark’s YouTube channel at youtube.com/nwkarchdiocese. Following the livestream, the video will be available on the Archdiocese’s Facebook page and website at http://www.rcan.org.  Links also will be available on archdiocesan social media channels:   @nwkarchdiocese.
  • QUICK GUIDE TO THE RE-OPENING with details on Mass times, reservations, and other attendance policies can be found here.
    • Phase 2 of the reopening began on June 15, with weekday Masses.  Attendance at the 8AM Masses, Monday through Friday, is limited to 24 families (people living under one roof for the duration of the quarantine), by reservation only through the Parish Office.
    • Phase 3 of the reopening, which includes weekend Masses, began on June 20.  Physical attendance at Mass is restricted to 24 families (people living under one roof for the duration of the quarantine), by reservation only through the Parish Office.  There will be an increase in the number of Masses:  Saturday at 4PM and 6 PM; Sunday at 8AM, 10AM, 12PM (Noon), and 6PM.  In order to accommodate more people and those with underlying health risks, the in-church Mass will also be LiveStreamed on Saturday at 4PM, Sunday at 10AM, 12PM, and 6PM.  Note that Saturday at 6PM and Sunday at 8AM are “in-church only”.
    • Eucharistic Adoration has returned to Thursdays!  We have moved the time to 6PM-8PM and meet in the church.  Reservations are required.
    • St. Raphael’s  LiveStream Mass – How to access:   Please log on 15 minutes prior to the Mass start time.  There is a limit of 100 sign-ins at the Main link: https://meet.google.com/bcj-bkok-vpe.   If asked for a meeting code, use bcj-bkok-vpe.  Dial in for audio only: 636-306-2148 PIN: 560 138 694# (Message and data rates may apply)  Please:  turn off your microphone and camera (both icons should be red) prior to joining the Meeting session
  • You can continue to provide your donations to the parish by mailing in your donation directly to the Parish , by dropping it off in the drop-box by the door of the office, or through our Online Giving program (see the OSVHub under the Donation tab on this site).  We are very grateful for your gifts!!

Current Events

  • The Religious Education offerings for the summer will include:
    • Virtual Religious Education – an interactive Google Meeting July 13-24.  Sign up here or on the Sign-up tab (above).
    • First Eucharist Learning Sessions on Saturday July 11 (2-3) and July 18 (2-3).
    • The Sacrament of First Eucharist on August 1 (noon or 2PM) and August 8 (noon or 2PM) – parents should call the Office with their preference
    • Rock Rosary starting July 31 at 7PM.  The children will create a rosary by Our Lady of Fatima with rocks that they have decorated with things for which they are thankful.  The activity will continue until a full rosary is created!! Sign up here.  See the details here.
  • Lectors and EMHCs! 
    • The Schedule for the summerWith re-opening underway, we have sent out the new schedule – currently for LECTORS ONLY.  Lectors will support Masses both via LiveStream and in-church.  The schedule will still be done manually.  Look of a message from the Ministry Lead on assignments.
    •  We are looking for additional Lectors and EMHCs!  Please consider joining these Ministries whose role is to support the Celebrant during the Mass by reading God’s words and distributing the Eucharist!   Call the Parish Office if you are interested.
  • Our social outreach ministry, SAMARITANS ALWAYS CARE (SAC) supported the Soup Kitchen of Our Lady of the Valley, with  “The Sandwich Program.”  We were able to provide hundreds of sandwiches to Our Lady of the Valley each week, for which the recipients were overwhelmingly grateful.  The Soup Kitchen is closed for the month of July, so we, too, are taking a breather.  When we identify another group that needs our help, we will let you know.  In the meantime, consider direct monetary donations to  Catholic Charities Development Office at 590 North 7th Street, Newark, NJ 07107, and John Carr Family Resources at 455 Western Ave., Morristown, NJ 07960.  Thank you!!

We Are Living Stones Capital Campaign

  • We are still working on our 4-year campaign to support the efforts of the Archdiocese support of our priests, our seminarians, our Catholic schools!!  This is the final year of  the campaign which was scheduled to wrap up by the end of June.  If you have any last minute gifts, please consider sending them soon. We have already received funds for our parish amounting to $39,274.78.  We can receive almost $50,000 if all pledges are met. Campaign Details

Annual Appeal

  • We’re in the midst of the 2020 Annual Campaign, Shining the Light of Christ! Results so far: $25,985 in pledges toward a goal of $41,391!   Pledge on-line at https://www.rcan.org/sharing!
